Local Style: Duffy Stone

You’ve been featured in Elle for your style, as well as a few other spots. How would you describe your personal style?

I always feel good in a pair of loose pants, tight button up, a clicky heel shoe and some bitchin’ shades.

What are your favorite brands here at BG?

Marni, Saint Laurent, Balenciaga, Vada Jewelry, Maison Margiela

You work right next door to us, at Wildflower. What are you doing over there?

Hey, neighbor! I’m the Creative Director and Buyer for Wildflower.  It’s been my favorite place for over 10 years so feel really lucky to be part of the magic.

Your son just recently turned 1 year old (!!) How do you feel your style changed with becoming a mother?

I’ve definitely become more confident in myself and my style becoming a mother.  It’s so important to me to be a good role model for my son, to be confident and show him the importance of self-expression through whatever that outlet is- for me it’s fashion.

What’s the most exciting thing you’ve got coming up for us with Wildflower?

I’m so excited I could scream that I get to work with my friend and artist Antonio Bond of Transplants Floral to design our upcoming holiday window display and some other things in the store.  I won’t give away too much, so I don’t kill the reveal, but am beyond stoked to collaborate with local artists to create some new, elevated and unexpected experiences at Wildflower.

As a native Texan, what is your very favorite thing about Austin, and what would be the #1 thing you’d recommend to a tourist or newcomer?

I will forever think the greatest thing ever is Casa de Luz.
