Rosie Assoulin Trunk Show
Join us next week on Friday, October 14th from 1PM–6PM at Lamar for a trunk show with one of our favorite new designers Rosie Assoulin! We sat down with Rosie to learn more about what inspires her collections and how her eponymous label came to be:
How did Rosie Assoulin come to be?
Well... I was a career fashion intern for yearsssss, then I went into event planning. Even though I loved what I was doing, I kind of always knew that something was missing. One day I realized that I had to try and make this work otherwise I would regret it, so we just went for it! You have to go with your gut and so we did, and so far it seems to be going well!!
What is a typical day for you like?
There is no typical day! Everyday is different.
Where do you look for inspiration, who are you designing for?
Everywhere!!!! The universe. There are no limits.
How would you describe your aesthetic?
Fun and functional. We don't design for a single type of "woman".
What’s next for Rosie Assoulin?
Our goal is really to keep creating pieces that women love and want to live their lives in. For us, its about making sure that women feel that we are dependable and that they can rely on us to make great pieces every season. We want them to feel something and we want to feel something when making our clothes. We are so lucky to be doing what we are doing, so as long as we can continue to get our collections to our customers and they actually like it, we are thrilled!
What’s your process?
Lots of sketching turns into hours of work. Our process is very fluid and organic so I am not sure that there is one "process" that we follow.
Describe your workspace… or the factory that produces your pieces?
We just moved, so its a bit crazy at the moment, but our work space is minimal! Large cork boards, inspiration images, markers and lots of snacks to keep us going :)
What is your favorite piece of your collection, from any season?
Its impossible to pick just one piece!!!
Come join us for a drink, meet the designer, shop fall 2016 ready-to-wear and pre-order Spring 2017!
