Still on the hunt for the perfect Mother’s Day gift? Don’t worry, we have you covered with jewelry that'll keep you in mom's good graces. Join us at South Congress this Friday and Saturday for an exclusive trunk show featuring jewelry designer (and native Texan), Larisa Laivins.
May 8 & 9
11 am – 5 pm
1400 S. Congress
For the stylish mom, Larisa recommends Diamond Disc Ring or the Alpine Pearl Ring for a head-turner or conversation-starter. For moms who don’t often wear a lot of jewelry, the Diamond or Turquoise Graham Rings are great for everyday wear and even stacked together with your wedding rings.
As for her process, it starts with the raw materials. Larisa notes,
"I collect stones every year at the gem show in Tucson, and then bring them back to my studio in Los Angeles where I spread them out and let them inspire me. I also look at a lot of images - fashion, fine art, home decor and ancient and vintage jewelry to tap into a vibe and a color world, and then I start sketching. I make hundreds of tiny thumbnails of shape and color and then edit them down to a handful which I then make final sketches specific to the stones I've selected. From there I work with a CAD artist to generate a 3D model and wax print, cast and then finish with George who is a master craftsman in downtown LA."
Enjoy macarons and a glass of bubbly while shopping Laivins’ gorgeous jewelry. Come by, pick up something for mom, and maybe snag a little something for yourself as well!
